For its first release on Human Ear Music, the Softboiled Eggies project evolved from a hushed bedroom recording to a modern pop style, absorbing elements of 60’s bubble-gum, mod and post-punk genres. The music is true to modernist pop’s thematic instability, lacing imaginary and emotionally extreme mise en scene with sweet repetition and jangly timbres.
